Eco - The Forest Dome Tube

A preserved-forest glass dome with a beeswax candle and a mini plantable calendar.

A three-inch glass dome on a 70 mm cork base holds preserved moss and flowers — the whole gift is built around it, and it needs nothing done to it. What else is in the tube is meant to be used up and then planted. It posts as it is, with no outer box.

• The dome is the object. Fifty millilitres of preserved forest under glass on a cork base — small enough for any desk, and unchanged a year later.
• A tube rather than a box. It survives a courier without a corner crush, and it opens more like a gift than a carton.
• Thirteen seed-paper calendar cards and a corked seed capsule to plant. Beeswax rather than paraffin, and cork that is bark rather than a cut tree.
• A 125 mm recycled paper tube with a lift-off cap. Round-section board takes courier handling better than a flat-sided box, and it arrives with no outer carton to throw away.
