Eco - The Aranya Cork Chest

A ten-inch lit Laxmi-Ganesh display, a metal lantern and dry fruit, under a cork lid.

The Aranya display runs ten inches wide — a lit MDF frame holding a resin Laxmi-Ganesh pair among preserved moss and flowers, adapter supplied. A metallic lantern beside it throws a second, smaller light that can be carried to the table. A 100 g jar of mixed dry fruit under a gold lid gives the chest something to open.

• Ten inches of lit display is what gets remembered. Preserved botanicals hold without water or light, and the LED runs from a standard adapter — so it is still on in March.
• The lantern and the ghanti are metal, not finish. Both are objects that come out again at the next occasion rather than being festival-only packaging.
• Preserved moss and flowers are harvested once and displayed for years, with nothing to water and nothing to replace. The 100 g of dry fruit comes in glass with a metal lid rather than plastic.
• A square MDF box under a full cork-faced lid, over a matte black base. The cork is natural grain — unprinted and unlaminated, so the first thing the recipient touches is the material itself.
