Eco - The Cork Desk Chest

A Ganesha terrarium for the festival, and a cork desk set for the eleven months after it.

A two-inch Ganesha stands in preserved moss under acrylic — the festive piece, and it asks for nothing: no water, no light, no dead plant on a desk in December. Everything else was chosen to still be in use in March, from the cork calendar reset each morning to the coasters that take a mug. The honey, dry fruit and cards carry the festival week itself.

• A terrarium that outlasts the recipient's attention. Preserved forest on a recycled-polymer base under a sealed acrylic cover — zero maintenance is the whole point of it.
• Cork does the daily work. The block calendar and the coaster set are the two objects a desk genuinely uses, and both are natural cork rather than printed board.
• The stationery is properly plantable: a 40-page notepad and a four-piece writing set, all seed-carrying and made in our own plant rather than bought in and rebadged.
• Rigid MDF in forest-green rexine, 11 × 10.5 × 4", with a cushioned woven-fabric lid and twin gold lines. Gold foil inside the lid, a fitted ivory satin bed in the base, a brass clasp and twisted gold rope handles.
