Eco - The Desk & Table Trunk

The widest trunk — half of it works at the desk, half at the table.

Nine pieces, split between the desk and the dining table. The Forest Terra pen stand holds the desk with preserved moss sealed under clear acrylic, and a 450 ml bamboo thermos leaves the house with them each morning — four hours hot, six cold. The table half is what gets opened on the night, and what is left over goes into soil.

• One kit that does not need a guess. Desk, drink, table, game and something to plant — this is the trunk for a recipient you do not know well enough to specialise for.
• The flask is the piece with daily contact. A stainless-steel inner and filter inside a bamboo body, holding four hours hot and six cold — it outlives the festival by years.
• Eighteen things to plant: five seed bottles and a thirteen-card seed-paper calendar carrying marigold, tulsi and tomato, plus a festive seed-paper sheet printed with water-based ink.
• Rigid MDF wrapped in forest-green rexine, with a cushioned woven-fabric lid panel bordered in twin gold lines. Gold foil inside the lid, ivory ruched satin in the base, a brass clasp and twisted gold rope handles — carried by hand, and kept long afterwards.
