Eco - The Honey & Pod Box

Two raw honeys with a preserved-forest pod, a beeswax candle and a board game.

Four pieces built around a 30 ml glass vessel of preserved moss and flowers on a cork base — small, sealed, and the only thing here that does not get used up. Two 30 ml honeys and a beeswax candle handle the table. A diya-and-bloom board in a cotton pouch is what actually gets played.

• The pod is the piece that stays. Preserved botanicals on cork need nothing done to them and hold their colour for years on a desk or a windowsill.
• Two things to open and one to play. That is the difference between a gift someone remembers and a gift someone eats.
• Raw unprocessed honey in 30 ml glass jars, beeswax rather than paraffin, and a cotton pouch rather than polyester. Nothing needs separating before disposal.
• A recycled kraft box with a printed festive wrap. Uncoated board, no plastic window and no foam, so the whole pack goes into the paper recycling in one piece.
