Eco - The Lantern Case

A Ganesha terrarium and a metal tea-light lantern with honey, in a satin-lined case.

Two lights and something sweet. A two-inch Ganesha stands in preserved moss under sealed acrylic, and a 110 mm metallic lantern beside it takes a tea light — one permanent, one lit for the evening. Two 30 ml honeys complete the case.

• The terrarium is the permanent half. Preserved forest under acrylic holds its colour without water or light, so it stays on the shelf once the lantern is put away.
• The lantern is metal and it refills. Unlike a wax pour or a printed clay diya, it comes back out at every occasion for years.
• Preserved botanicals are harvested once and displayed for years. The honey is raw and unprocessed, in 30 ml glass jars rather than plastic.
• The smallest of the Emerald Forest three: rigid MDF in forest-green rexine, gold foil inside the lid, ivory ruched satin in the base, with a brass clasp and twisted gold rope handles.
