Eco - The Sowing Desk Box

A 9 × 7 inch tabletop frame carries an A5 festive print behind a preserved-botanical forest tile — it is what stops the box reading as a stationery set. Everything else in it can be planted once it has been used, from the desk calendar to the pencils. Five seed varieties come bottled in a tin for anyone who would rather start straight away.

• The frame is what makes it a gift. Nine inches across, preserved moss and flowers, festive artwork — it stands on a desk or a shelf for years and needs nothing done to it.
• It is a working desk set before it is anything else. Forty pages at 80 gsm, a ring-bound calendar that actually stands, and four cork coasters in a holder.
• Six things here go into soil rather than the bin — thirteen calendar cards, the notepad cover, two pens, two pencils and five bottled seed varieties, all printed with water-based ink.
• A recycled kraft box with a printed festive wrap. Uncoated board, no plastic window and no foam, so the whole pack goes into the paper recycling in one piece.
